Hello! I hope you're well 😊 Today, I share with you a classic for those who have a Thermomix® at home: Bimbal made with Rocha pears from the Oeste region!
For those who aren't familiar, this is a juice that can last up to 1 week in the refrigerator without losing its properties. In other words, it's a homemade nectar without preservatives or other industrial additives. It can be made with any fruit or even a mix of fruits, making it excellent for using up those fruits that are starting to wilt in the fruit bowl.
For the Bimbal, you will need:
- 400 to 500g ripe Rocha pears
- 50g demerara or coconut sugar
- 1 liter of water
- 1 lemon
Preparation using Thermomix®TM6:
- In the Bimby® container, place the pears with skin but without seeds, chopped into pieces. Add sugar and water, and cook for 30min/120°C/Speed 1.
- Add the lemon without skin or seeds, and blend for 1min/Speed 7.
- Let it cool, transfer to a bottle with an airtight lid, and refrigerate until serving. This juice typically lasts about 1 week.
Traditional preparation:
- In a saucepan, place the pears with skin but without seeds, chopped into pieces. Add sugar and water, and cook until the pears start to break down, stirring occasionally.
- Transfer the cooked pears to a blender, add the lemon without skin or seeds, and blend as much as possible.
- Let it cool, transfer to a bottle with an airtight lid, and refrigerate until serving.
- Due to the Thermomix® technology, achieving the same consistency in a regular blender might be challenging. If you prefer a smoother juice, strain before transferring to the bottle.
- This juice typically lasts about 1 week.
TIP: The lemon not only provides vitamin C but also acts as a natural preservative. Don't forget to include it. The quantity of pears can vary depending on whether you prefer more or less pulp. Adjust the amount of sugar to your personal taste 😉
I hope you enjoy these delicious recipe!
